Which Zoho apps fit a manufacturer in the UAE?

Most UAE manufacturers need five apps: Inventory, Books, CRM, Creator and Payroll, often bought together as Zoho One. Zoho ERP, the suite with built-in production planning, is offered in India only at the time of writing, so it is not an option for a UAE entity. You do not need all five on day one. Most firms start with Inventory and Books, because stock and VAT are where spreadsheets fail first.

Can Zoho Inventory handle bills of materials, batches and multiple warehouses?

Yes, for simple production. Zoho Inventory uses composite items as a bill of materials: a finished product made from listed components. When you record an assembly, Zoho takes the components out of stock and adds the finished item. Zoho's own guidance says composite items handle single-level BOMs, so plan for that limit.

Batch tracking records your own batch reference, the manufacturer's batch number and an expiry date. Each item is tracked by batch or by serial number, not both, and advanced tracking depends on your plan. If you need multi-level BOMs, routing, machine scheduling or full MRP, Zoho Inventory alone is not enough. A Zoho Creator app can add work orders and QC steps, but agree that scope in writing before you build.

How does an order run from quote to delivery in Zoho?

Here is the core workflow we set up for a make-to-order or make-to-stock manufacturer. Each step has one owner and one system.

1. 1A distributor or buyer enquiry lands in Zoho CRM from a web form, email or WhatsApp, and a salesperson qualifies it.
2. 2The salesperson sends a quote in AED with VAT from CRM, using the same item list as Inventory.
3. 3When the quote is accepted, a sales order is created in Zoho Inventory and stock is checked against components.
4. 4If components are short, purchase orders go to suppliers; if they are available, production starts.
5. 5A Creator job card records the work order, batch number and QC result before the assembly is recorded.
6. 6Inventory records the assembly, picks the finished goods and creates the delivery note.
7. 7Zoho Books raises the tax invoice, sends it as an e-invoice where required and tracks payment.
8. 8Zoho Analytics or Books reports show margin by product and stock value by warehouse.

Is Zoho Books ready for UAE VAT and e-invoicing?

Zoho Books has a UAE edition built for VAT. Zoho says it is recognised by the Federal Tax Authority as a Digital Tax Integrator, so you can generate the VAT201 return and file it directly with EmaraTax. The standard VAT rate is 5%, with some supplies zero-rated or exempt.

For e-invoicing, Zoho Software Trading LLC is on the Ministry of Finance list of Accredited Service Providers, accreditation number 121988. Zoho says Zoho Books supports PINT-AE e-invoices exchanged over the Peppol network, and that you appoint Zoho as your provider through EmaraTax.

The Ministry has amended these rules during 2026, so confirm your phase, exemptions and penalties with your tax adviser. Zoho Books also has corporate tax features, but your adviser should confirm how they fit your filing.

Does Zoho Payroll support WPS, and what changes between free zone and mainland companies?

Zoho Payroll has a UAE edition. Zoho says it generates the WPS salary information file (SIF) as part of every pay run and supports several establishment IDs under one login. Employee changes made in Zoho People flow into payroll. Zoho's own guide notes that DIFC, with its DEWS scheme, and ADGM follow different rules from the mainland, so confirm how your zone is handled before go-live.

Free zone and mainland companies are usually separate legal entities, so each normally gets its own Zoho Books organisation with its own VAT registration, inventory and reports. Goods moving between designated zones and the mainland can have different VAT treatment, and qualifying free zone status for corporate tax has its own conditions. Zoho records the transactions; your tax adviser decides how each one is treated.

Zoho runs data centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so UAE sign-ups can keep data in the country. Confirm the data centre when you create the account, as it is hard to move later.

What does a Zoho for manufacturers in the UAE rollout look like, and what mistakes should you avoid?

A multi-app rollout for a manufacturer usually takes six to twelve weeks. A typical plan: weeks 1 to 2 for discovery, item codes and opening stock; weeks 3 to 5 for Inventory and Books, including VAT and e-invoicing set-up; weeks 6 to 8 for CRM and the Creator production app; then Payroll, training and go-live. A CRM-only start can go live within two weeks.

• Importing messy item codes. Clean component and finished goods codes before migration, or every BOM will be wrong.
• Leaving e-invoicing to the last month. Choose your provider and test invoices well before your phase date.
• Expecting MRP from Inventory. Map production steps first and decide what Creator will handle.
• Mixing free zone and mainland entities in one organisation. Keep them separate unless your adviser says otherwise.
• Skipping batch tracking at the start. Turning it on later means re-entering stock.

The integrations UAE manufacturers ask for most are e-invoicing through Zoho's own accredited provider connection in Books, WhatsApp in Zoho CRM for distributor conversations, and shipping. Zoho Inventory lists Aramex among the carriers it supports through EasyPost. Anything else, such as a customs broker or a machine data system, goes through Zoho Flow or the API if that vendor offers one.
