Sales tax and invoicing

Payroll and HR rules

California payroll has more moving parts than most states. Employees pay State Disability Insurance, which includes Paid Family Leave, through payroll withholding, and there is no longer a taxable wage ceiling. Overtime is daily as well as weekly: hours over eight in a workday earn time and a half, and hours over twelve earn double time. Employers with 15 or more employees must include a pay scale in job postings. We set up Zoho People for attendance, shifts and leave so daily hours are captured cleanly, then connect it to your payroll provider, such as Gusto or ADP, which handles SDI withholding.
