Zoho ERP

Zoho ERP vs Zoho One for manufacturers: which should you choose?

By Harikrishnan, Founder & Chief Zoho Consultant, Flowpeak · 10+ years in Zoho · Published · Last updated

Choose Zoho ERP when your main problems are on the shop floor: material planning, bills of materials, production and job work, and you are in a country where Zoho ERP is sold (India at launch). Choose Zoho One when you need many connected apps across sales, finance, stock, HR and support, or when you are outside India; production steps are then handled with Zoho Inventory plus a Zoho Creator app.

Manufacturers ask us this more than almost any other question: should we buy Zoho ERP or Zoho One? They sound similar, they come from the same company, and both promise to run the whole business. They are built for different problems. This guide explains what each one covers for a manufacturer, where Zoho ERP can be bought today, and how to decide before you pay for any licence.

The short version

Zoho ERP is a single product built around operations and finance. Zoho launched it on 23 January 2026 from Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, with manufacturing features such as material planning, production planning, shop-floor execution, bills of materials and job work. At launch it was available in India, and Zoho said it would roll out to other countries later without giving dates.

Zoho One is a bundle: one subscription that gives you access to most Zoho apps, including Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, Zoho Creator, Zoho People, Zoho Desk and Zoho Analytics. It covers far more of the business, but production planning is not a ready-made module; we build it with Zoho Inventory and a Zoho Creator app.

When Zoho ERP is the better fit

  • Most of your losses are on the shop floor: wrong material at the wrong time, production you cannot track, or costing you only see after the month closes
  • You need multi-level bills of materials, production planning and job work without building them yourself
  • Your company is in India, where Zoho ERP is sold, and you need GST, e-invoicing and Indian payroll in the same system
  • Your sales process is simple, so you do not need a full CRM on day one

When Zoho One is the better fit

  • You need sales, service, HR, marketing and finance connected, not only production
  • Your sales team needs a proper CRM with pipelines, follow-ups and approvals
  • You are outside India, for example in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the US, Canada or the UK, where Zoho ERP was not yet sold at launch
  • Your production process is simple enough for Zoho Inventory assemblies, or specific enough that a Zoho Creator app built around your stages works better than a fixed module

The mistake to avoid: buying first, mapping later

The most expensive outcome we see is a business that buys a large licence, switches everything on, and never trains the team. People drift back to spreadsheets, and the licence count gets cut. The product was not the problem; the rollout was.

Before you buy either product, write down your production steps from order to dispatch, mark where time and money are lost, and check each step against the product you are considering. That one page decides the choice more reliably than any feature list.

How we help you decide

In a free scoping call we walk through your process from enquiry to dispatch, then show which steps Zoho ERP covers, which Zoho One covers, and what would need a custom Zoho Creator app. You get a written recommendation before you spend anything on licences. We do not quote Zoho licence prices; check the official Zoho pricing page for your country.

Frequently asked questions

Is Zoho ERP part of Zoho One?

Zoho sells Zoho ERP as its own product with its own plans. Before buying, confirm with Zoho how it relates to a Zoho One subscription in your country.

Can I use Zoho ERP outside India?

At its launch in January 2026, Zoho ERP was available in India, and Zoho said it would roll out to other countries later. Outside India, manufacturers usually use Zoho One or Zoho Inventory and Zoho Books, with a Zoho Creator app for production.

Can Zoho One handle bills of materials?

Zoho Inventory, which is part of Zoho One, supports composite items and assemblies for simple bills of materials. Multi-level production planning and shop-floor tracking are usually built as a Zoho Creator app.

Can we start with one and move to the other later?

Yes, but plan the data structure first: item codes, warehouses, units and the chart of accounts. If those are clean, moving later is much easier.
