Zoho data residency in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
By Harikrishnan, Founder & Chief Zoho Consultant, Flowpeak · 10+ years in Zoho · Published · Last updated
Zoho opened data centres in Jeddah and Riyadh in early 2024 and launched UAE data centre regions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 2026. Saudi and UAE businesses can now keep Zoho data in-country. The region is chosen when the account is created; moving an existing account is handled by Zoho, not as a self-serve switch. Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman did not have local Zoho data centres at our last check.

Government suppliers, banks, clinics and larger enterprises in the Gulf increasingly ask where their data is stored. Zoho now has an in-country answer for Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Laws to consider
- Saudi Arabia: Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), with rules on transfers outside the Kingdom
- UAE: Federal Personal Data Protection Law, plus sector rules such as health-data storage requirements
- Free zones such as DIFC and ADGM have their own data protection laws
- Sector regulators (banking, health, government) may set stricter rules
- Your own client contracts
Data residency helps but is not compliance on its own. This is not legal advice.
What we do for you
- Create the account in the right region from the start
- Check that every Zoho app and integration you need works in that region
- Set access roles, audit logs and retention rules
- Document data flows to third-party tools such as WhatsApp providers and payment gateways
Working with Flowpeak
We are based in Chennai, India and work with Gulf businesses remotely. We do not have staff in the Gulf. India is 1.5 to 2.5 hours ahead of Gulf time, so our working days overlap almost completely. Our team configures your account remotely; your data stays in the region you choose, and our access can be removed at any time.
Want help putting this into practice? Flowpeak works as a Zoho implementation partner for UAE companies, delivering remotely from Chennai. Book a free call to talk through your setup.

Ask Zoho support. It is not a self-serve switch.
