Zoho for Arizona businesses: TPT classifications, A-4 and sick time
Arizona businesses range from contractors and solar installers to chip suppliers, resorts and growers in the Yuma and Pinal farm belts. What they share is a tax system that works differently from most states. Arizona taxes the business, not the buyer, and the rate depends on the type of activity and the city and county where it happens. Zoho fits when a company needs quotes, jobs and invoices to carry the right classification from the start. We set up Zoho CRM, Zoho Books and Zoho People remotely, with calls in the Arizona morning all year.
Construction contractors
Contracting is taxed under its own TPT classification in Arizona. We set up Zoho Books items and tax groups for contracting work, Zoho Projects for job costing, and Zoho CRM for bids so each job is classified correctly before the first invoice goes out.
Solar installers
Solar firms juggle site surveys, permits, utility paperwork and financing. We build Zoho CRM pipelines from lead to interconnection, Zoho Creator checklists for permit stages, and Zoho Books milestone invoices so deposits and final payments track each install.
Semiconductor and electronics suppliers
Suppliers to chip and electronics plants need part traceability, quality records and long quote cycles. We set up Zoho Inventory with serial and batch tracking, Zoho CRM for RFQs and supplier agreements, and Zoho Creator for inspection logs.
Resorts and hospitality
Resorts and event venues sell rooms, packages and group events. We use Zoho CRM for group and wedding enquiries, Zoho Books with tax groups for lodging and food sold in different cities, and Zoho People for seasonal staff scheduling.
Growers and produce shippers
Desert growers and shippers run tight harvest windows. We set up Zoho Inventory with lot tracking from field to buyer, Zoho CRM for buyer contracts, and Zoho People for seasonal crews so sick time accrual and balances stay accurate.
Sales tax and invoicing
Arizona does not have a typical sales tax. The Arizona Department of Revenue describes transaction privilege tax as a tax on the vendor for the privilege of doing business in the state. Different business activities are taxed under different classifications, and rates vary by activity, county and city. ADOR collects the tax for counties and cities, and a business with several locations can hold a consolidated license. In Zoho Books we map items to classifications and set tax groups per location, adding Sales Tax Automation with Avalara for multi-state sales. Rules change, so confirm with your CPA.
Payroll and HR rules
Arizona state income tax withholding works by percentage. Employees choose a percentage of gross taxable wages on Form A-4, and payroll applies it. Under Proposition 206, employees earn at least one hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked, with annual caps that depend on employer size. Each paycheck must show available sick time, time used and sick pay received so far this year. We set up Zoho People to track attendance and leave balances, then connect it to Gusto, ADP or a similar payroll provider that prints those balances on pay stubs.
Tools you probably connect
Arizona contractors often ask us to replace spreadsheets and QuickBooks Online with Zoho Books, Zoho CRM and Zoho Projects. Common connections include Gusto or ADP for payroll, Stripe or Square for payments, and Shopify for retail. Solar firms want Zoho FSM for crew scheduling, and manufacturers need Zoho Inventory linked to supplier portals or an existing ERP.
Meeting times
Calls fit your morning: about 8:00 am to 11:00 am Arizona time, all year, Monday to Friday.
Tax and payroll rules change. We confirm the details with your CPA or payroll provider before go-live.

Questions from businesses in Arizona
Can Zoho Books handle Arizona TPT classifications?
Yes, with careful setup. We create items and tax groups that match your business activities and locations, and your CPA checks the mapping before go-live.
Why do Arizona call times not shift with daylight saving time?
Most of Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, so your meeting window stays the same all year: about 8:00 am to 11:00 am Arizona time.
Can Zoho People show sick time balances for Arizona pay stubs?
Zoho People tracks leave accrual and balances. Your payroll provider prints them on each paycheck, so we connect the two and test the figures together.

Yes. We set up leads, scheduling, job tracking, quotes and invoicing with Zoho CRM, FSM or Creator, and Books.

How working with Flowpeak works from Arizona
We deliver remotely from Chennai, India, and have no offices elsewhere. Harikrishnan, our founder, worked at several Zoho partner companies on 600+ implementations before founding Flowpeak in July 2024. He scopes every project, and our certified consultants deliver it.
Meetings in your working hours
Calls run on Google Meet, bookable 7:00 to 23:30 India time, Monday to Friday. That covers the UAE and Saudi working day, UK and European mornings and afternoons, and US East Coast mornings.
Your data stays yours
Everything is built in your own Zoho account and data centre. We work with the access you grant, sign an NDA and a data processing agreement before work starts, and you can remove our access at any time.
30 days of fixes after go-live
Anything that does not work as agreed is fixed at no extra cost for 30 days after go-live. After that, ongoing support is optional.
Paid by milestone
You pay by milestones agreed in your written quote. If the scope grows, we tell you and quote it before doing anything extra.
Common worries, straight answers
“Staff will resist changing habits and the rollout will stall.”
We roll out one team at a time, train each role on its own screens, and keep the first version simple. People adopt a system that removes work, so we cut steps before we add fields.
“Migration of years of historical data looks risky and slow.”
We clean and map your data first, run a test import that you check, and only then move the full history. Your old system stays readable until you sign off.
“We already pay for tools that sort of work; switching seems disruptive mid-season.”
We pick a quiet cut-over date with you and can run old and new side by side for a short period. Tools that work well can stay and be connected instead of replaced.
“Our process is unusual and off-the-shelf software will not fit.”
Most unusual steps fit with Blueprint stage rules, custom modules or a small Creator app. If something does not fit, we tell you in the first call.
