Zoho ERP Modules Explained: What Each One Does

By Harikrishnan, Founder & Chief Zoho Consultant, Flowpeak · 10+ years in Zoho · Published · Last updated

Zoho ERP is built from six solution areas: Core Financials, Supply Chain Management, Billing Management, People and Payroll, Spend Management and Omnichannel Commerce. They sit on shared layers for taxes and filing, payments, Zia AI and a low-code platform. Zoho launched it in India on 23 January 2026, and its product pages remain India-focused.

This guide is for finance heads, operations leads and owners who already know what Zoho ERP is and now want detail on each module before scoping a project. You will see what Core Financials, Supply Chain Management, Billing Management, Spend Management, People and Payroll and Omnichannel Commerce each cover, what the shared platform adds, where the product is available today, and what to decide before you pick modules. Every point comes from Zoho's own ERP pages and launch announcement.

Where is Zoho ERP available, and what about other markets?

Zoho announced Zoho ERP on 23 January 2026 at an event in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, and said it was available in India for immediate use. Its compliance features are Indian: GST, e-invoicing, and payroll rules for PF, ESI, Professional Tax and Labour Welfare Fund. Zoho said it plans a phased global rollout but has not published dates. At the time of writing, its ERP pages sit on the India site, so check zoho.com for your country before planning around it.

  • India: available now, with GST and e-invoicing built into Core Financials and statutory payroll in People and Payroll.
  • USA and Canada: not listed as available at the time of writing. Zoho One or Zoho Books with Zoho Inventory are the usual route today.
  • UK and EU: not listed as available. Zoho Books covers Making Tax Digital and EU VAT needs alongside other Zoho apps.
  • UAE and Gulf: not listed as available. Zoho Books handles UAE VAT and Saudi ZATCA e-invoicing in its regional editions.

What do all the Zoho ERP modules cover?

Each solution area groups several functions that used to be separate apps or separate projects. The table summarises what Zoho lists for each one.

Zoho ERP solution areas and their main functions (India, at the time of writing)
ModuleMain functions listed by Zoho
Core FinancialsGeneral ledger, fixed assets, revenue recognition, financial close, approvals, GST and e-invoicing
Supply Chain ManagementProcurement, manufacturing, inventory, warehouse management, POS, order management
Billing ManagementProduct catalogue, subscription and usage billing, proration, dunning, customer portal
Spend ManagementPurchase requests, procure-to-pay matching, expenses, travel, AP automation
People and PayrollOnboarding, employee records, leave and attendance, payroll, statutory forms
Omnichannel CommerceOnline store builder, order management, POS, inventory and warehouse coordination

What does Core Financials include?

Core Financials is the accounting backbone. Zoho describes a general ledger with a standard chart of accounts that can follow local rules, automatic journal posting from bank categorisation rules, and splitting transactions across entities by fixed amounts or percentages.

Fixed asset management covers acquisition to disposal, with straight-line and declining balance depreciation and depreciation forecasts. Revenue recognition supports daily, evenly spread or prorated schedules, and Zoho's launch release says it aligns with IFRS 15 and ASC 606. A governed financial close uses fiscal calendars, reusable blueprints for reconciliations and allocations, and AI-flagged anomalies. Approvals include multi-level chains and three-way matching, with audit trails. Under indirect tax, it configures GST rates, handles reverse charge and generates e-invoices.

What do Supply Chain Management and manufacturing cover?

Supply Chain Management brings procurement, manufacturing, inventory, warehouse management, POS and order management into one stock view across locations and channels. Zoho also lists a customer and vendor portal for order tracking, document exchange, proof of delivery and payment status.

For manufacturers, Zoho ERP's help centre includes Bill of Materials, Work Centers, Operations, Job Cards and Manufacturing Orders, and the manufacturing vertical lists material planning, production planning, shop-floor execution and job work. This is the main gap it fills compared with Zoho Inventory, which handles assemblies but not routed production. For planning a full project, our Zoho ERP implementation service starts with mapping these production steps.

  • Distribution vertical: dealer management, stock movement control and beat management for field sales.
  • Retail vertical: outlet operations, barcode scanning, store performance monitoring and demand forecasting.

What do Billing, Spend, People and Payroll and Commerce add?

Billing Management handles recurring and usage-based billing with tiered, volume, prepaid and hybrid pricing, plus proration, amendments, refunds, dunning and a self-service portal where customers see and pay invoices.

Spend Management covers structured purchase requests, automatic matching of purchase orders, receipts and invoices, expense capture by mobile, email or card feed, travel booking through travel management companies or integrations, and AP automation that reads invoices and routes them for approval.

People and Payroll covers onboarding, employee records, leave and attendance with biometric or app capture, salary structures, online salary disbursement, digital tax declarations, off-cycle pay runs, and statutory forms such as Form 24Q and Form 16. Zoho notes that performance management needs the Zoho People add-on.

Omnichannel Commerce adds an online store builder, order management across channels and POS on the same stock and finance data, so a sale in a store or online updates inventory and revenue together.

What does the shared platform layer provide?

Under the modules sit four shared layers: AI in ERP through Zia, Taxes and filing, Payments, and Platform capabilities. Zia offers voice-based help through Ask Zia, predictive insights and anomaly detection. The low-code platform includes custom modules, workflow automation, widgets and extensions, and blueprint and journey tools, so many changes no longer need a separate Zoho Creator app.

The integrations directory groups connectors under payments, banks, Zoho apps, e-commerce, shipping and others. Check that your bank, payment gateway and courier appear before you commit. Also check how Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk or any existing third-party tools will exchange data with the ERP, because customer and order data often lives in more than one place during the first year.

What should you decide before choosing modules?

  1. Confirm availability and the plan that includes the modules you need on Zoho's India pricing page.
  2. Pick a phase-one scope. Most firms start with Core Financials and Supply Chain, then add payroll or billing.
  3. Decide whether manufacturing needs routings, work centres and job cards, or only assemblies.
  4. List data to migrate: opening balances, item masters, BOMs, open orders and employee records.
  5. Note what stays outside, such as Zoho CRM or a third-party tool, and how it will connect.

A common mistake is switching on every module at once because they are all there. Each one needs owners, rules and training. Flowpeak, a registered Zoho partner in Chennai with Zoho certified consultants, works through these decisions with you remotely or by video call. Frequently asked questions

Can I buy only some Zoho ERP modules?

Zoho presents Zoho ERP as one product with plans, and its demo covers a premium plan. Which modules each plan includes can change, so check Zoho's India pricing page or ask Zoho sales. In practice you can still roll out modules in phases even if your plan includes more.

Does Zoho ERP include manufacturing?

Yes. Zoho ERP's help centre covers Bill of Materials, Work Centers, Operations, Job Cards and Manufacturing Orders, and the manufacturing vertical lists production planning, shop-floor execution and job work. This goes further than Zoho Inventory assemblies, which build finished goods from components without routed production steps.

Is Zoho ERP available in the UAE, UK or USA?

At launch Zoho ERP was available in India only, and Zoho said other countries would follow in phases without giving dates. Check zoho.com for your country. Until it is listed, businesses outside India usually combine Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory and other apps or use Zoho One.

Does Zoho ERP replace Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory?

For Indian businesses that move to it, Zoho ERP covers accounting and supply chain in one product, so separate Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory subscriptions may not be needed. Migration of existing data and integrations needs planning. Confirm migration options with Zoho before you switch.

Does Zoho ERP handle Indian payroll compliance?

Zoho lists PF, ESI, state Professional Tax and Labour Welfare Fund handling, digital income tax declarations, and forms such as Form 24Q and Form 16 in the People and Payroll module. Review your state rules and test a parallel payroll run before going live.
