Zoho AI: common questions
What is Zia in Zoho?+
Zia is the AI built into Zoho apps such as Zoho CRM, Desk, Books, Analytics and Creator. It can score leads, suggest replies, read documents, answer questions about your data and, through Zia Agents, carry out tasks within the permissions you give it.
Is Zia included in my Zoho licence?+
It depends on the app and the edition. Many Zia features come with the higher editions of each app, and some newer AI features are still rolling out by region. Zoho bills licences directly; we check what your edition includes before we plan any work.
Do we need ChatGPT or Claude if Zoho already has Zia?+
Often not. Zia covers most day-to-day needs inside Zoho. We add ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini when you need something Zia does not do well for you, such as long-form drafting in your house style or a model your company already uses.
Is our data safe?+
Zia runs inside Zoho. For OpenAI, Claude or Gemini integrations we send only the fields a task needs, use your own API key so you control billing and retention settings, and log what is sent. Zoho MCP works within each user’s existing Zoho permissions.
Can AI agents act on their own?+
They can, but we start with “suggest and approve”: the AI drafts, a person checks and sends. Once you trust an agent on a task, we can let it run on its own for that task only.
How much does it cost?+
Our AI integrations with Zoho CRM have fixed prices from USD 1,020 (Gemini), USD 1,180 (OpenAI) and USD 1,330 (Claude). Setting up Zia is usually part of a Zoho project, and Zoho CRM setup starts at USD 500. AI providers bill their usage to you directly.
