Can Zoho Creator build apps with AI or prompt-to-app, and how good is it?

Yes. Zoho Creator now has AI features that generate an app's forms, fields and basic reports from a plain-language description, and help write Deluge code. They are good for a quick first draft. For business rules, integrations, permissions and clean data design, you still need to review and refine the result by hand.

Zoho has added generative AI to Creator, including tools that turn a prompt such as an equipment maintenance tracker with technicians and service logs into forms, fields, relationships and starter reports. There is also help with writing and explaining Deluge scripts. Feature names and availability change as Zoho releases updates, so check the current Creator pages.

What the AI does well is speed up the boring start: naming fields, guessing sensible field types, and building a working skeleton you can click through in minutes. That is useful for testing an idea with users before spending real effort.

Where it falls short is the part that makes an app reliable. It does not know your approval rules, edge cases, user roles, integrations with Zoho Books or CRM, or how your data should be normalised. Generated code needs testing like any code. Treat the AI output as a draft. Review every form and relationship, rewrite the logic you depend on, and test with real data before rolling it out.
