Setting up Zoho CRM in Arabic: bilingual templates, names and right-to-left documents
By Harikrishnan, Founder & Chief Zoho Consultant, Flowpeak · 10+ years in Zoho · Published · Last updated
Zoho CRM can be used in Arabic, but a good Gulf setup goes further: store names in both Arabic and English fields, build bilingual email, quote and WhatsApp templates, test right-to-left layouts on PDFs, and make sure search and duplicate checks work across both scripts. Plan this at the start, because retrofitting templates later costs more.

Businesses in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman often serve customers in both Arabic and English. Switching the Zoho interface to Arabic is easy. Getting customer-facing documents and messages right takes a little more planning.
What to set up
| Area | Recommended setup |
|---|---|
| User interface | Each user picks Arabic or English in their own settings |
| Customer names | Separate Arabic and English name fields |
| Addresses | Bilingual fields where documents need both |
| Email templates | Separate Arabic and English templates, chosen by a preferred-language field |
| Quotes and invoices | Bilingual PDF templates tested for right-to-left text |
| WhatsApp templates | Arabic and English versions approved separately by Meta |
| Web forms | Arabic and English versions of lead forms |
Right-to-left documents
- Test every PDF template with real Arabic names and addresses
- Check numbers, dates and currency display
- Keep tables simple; complex layouts break more often in RTL
- Use a font that renders Arabic clearly
- Get a native speaker to proofread before go-live
Search and duplicates
- Duplicate checks on phone and email, which are the same in both scripts
- Search on both name fields
- Standardise phone numbers with country codes (+971, +966, +974)
Automation by preferred language
Add a Preferred Language field to leads and contacts. Workflow rules then send the Arabic or English version of each email or WhatsApp template automatically, so customers always get messages in the language they chose.
