A Zoho partner is an independent company approved by Zoho to sell, implement, customise and support Zoho products. You pay Zoho for licences and the partner for the work of setting Zoho up around your business. You need one when your setup involves data migration, integrations, automation or several Zoho apps.

Zoho sells software directly, but much of the setup work is done by a network of partners around the world. Here is what they actually do, how to tell them apart, and when you can skip them.

Partner tiers
Zoho groups partners into tiers such as Authorized, Advanced and Premium. Tiers mostly reflect a partner's licence business and certifications with Zoho. They are useful for checking that a firm is a real partner, but they do not measure delivery quality. A smaller partner with deep experience in your industry can be a better choice than a large one.

Do you need a partner?
- Probably not: a single app, a few users, standard setup, and someone on your team with time to learn
- Probably yes: you are moving from another system, need integrations, want automation or Blueprints, or are rolling out several Zoho apps
- Definitely yes: tax or compliance setup (GST, VAT, MTD, ZATCA), or a business-critical process that cannot go wrong
