Choose the cut-over date

Most businesses switch at the start of a month, quarter or fiscal year. Opening balances are taken from QuickBooks on that date, so a reconciled month-end makes everything easier.

What moves across

• Chart of accounts, mapped to Zoho Books
• Customers, vendors and items
• Opening balances, including GST/HST payable and receivable
• Open invoices and bills

Set up Canadian tax first

Configure GST/HST, PST or QST and customer provinces before importing open invoices, so their tax is correct.

Test, reconcile, then switch

• Compare the trial balance in both systems on the cut-over date
• Reconcile bank accounts and connect bank feeds
• Run one parallel month if your accountant prefers

Common mistakes
