AI Sales Agents 2027: Zoho CRM vs Salesforce Agentforce vs HubSpot
By Harikrishnan, Founder & Chief Zoho Consultant, Flowpeak · 10+ years in Zoho · Published · Last updated
All three vendors now offer prebuilt sales agents and a builder for custom ones. Salesforce Agentforce suits larger teams that need deep customization and governance. HubSpot's agents suit marketing-led teams already on HubSpot. Zoho's Zia Agents suit cost-conscious SMBs on Zoho, since Zoho charges for model usage rather than per agent.

This comparison is for owners and sales leaders at small and mid-sized businesses in the USA and worldwide who are choosing a CRM, or deciding whether to switch, partly on AI agents. It covers what Zoho, Salesforce and HubSpot each offer, how each prices agent usage, which data each agent draws on, and which type of business each fits. Disclosure: Flowpeak is a registered Zoho partner. We have kept the comparison to facts on each vendor's own site and noted where others are stronger.
What is an AI sales agent, and how should you test one?
An AI sales agent is software that does a sales task with some independence, such as qualifying a lead, drafting outreach, coaching a rep or flagging a deal at risk, using your CRM data. It differs from a simple assistant because it can take actions, not just answer questions.
When comparing vendors, look at five things: how you build or change an agent, which prebuilt agents exist, what data the agent can see, how usage is priced, and what controls you have over what it may do. Pricing models change often, so check each vendor's pricing page for your region before deciding.
Also ask where the agent runs and where your data goes. Some agents call third-party models, and each vendor offers different controls over data residency. If you sell into Europe, the UK or the Gulf, confirm your obligations with your lawyer before connecting customer data.
Whichever platform you consider, run the same short pilot so you compare like with like. A demo shows the best case; a pilot on your own data shows what your team will actually get, and what it will cost each month.
- Pick one narrow task, such as qualifying inbound leads or flagging stalled deals.
- Write down what a good result looks like and who checks it.
- Run the agent on a copy or sandbox of your data, or with limited permissions, where the vendor supports it.
- Have a person review every output for two to four weeks.
- Track usage so you can estimate monthly credit or token costs from real numbers.
- Decide to expand, adjust or stop based on those results, not on a demo.
What does Zoho offer with Zia Agents?
Zoho announced Zia Agents, Zia Agent Studio, an Agent Marketplace and an MCP server in July 2025, rolling out first to early access customers. Agent Studio is a prompt-based builder with an optional low-code mode, and Zoho said agents could use more than 700 actions across its apps. Zoho's CRM help now lists prebuilt SDR, Sales Coach, Quote Creation and Account Manager agents. Its agent store lists others such as Deal Analyzer and Revenue Growth Specialist.
Agents deploy into Zoho CRM as a Connection that acts with a user's permissions, or as a Digital Employee with its own role. On pricing, Zoho's agents page says building and running agents carries no platform fee. You pay for model usage: bring your own OpenAI, Gemini or Claude key, prepay a wallet, or use Zoho-hosted models with a monthly free allowance. Zoho marks this as subject to change, and some options vary by data center. Zoho also offers an MCP server, so outside AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT can work with Zoho data within your permission settings. Zoho said MCP access started in early access, so confirm what your account includes.
What does Salesforce Agentforce offer?
Agentforce is Salesforce's agent platform, built with Agentforce Builder. For sales, Salesforce documents an SDR agent that handles outreach, answers lead questions and books meetings, and a Sales Coach that gives deal feedback and runs role-play practice. Agents are grounded in your Salesforce data, and Salesforce's Data 360 platform can bring in data from other systems.
Salesforce offers several pricing models. Flex Credits are consumption-based and cover actions, prompts and voice. A per-conversation model suits customer-facing agents. Per-user add-ons give employees unmetered use within Sales or Service Cloud, and Agentforce 1 editions bundle the add-on with an annual credit allotment. Salesforce notes Data 360 credits are a separate cost.
What does HubSpot offer with its Breeze-powered agents?
HubSpot groups its agents in Agent Hub, accessed through Breeze Assistant. For sales, it lists a Prospecting Agent that watches buying signals and starts outreach, a Nurture Agent for follow-up emails, Smart Deal Progression for next steps after calls, and a Data Agent that answers questions about contacts and companies. It also offers Customer, Content, Campaign and Revenue agents. Agent Builder lets you create custom agents from prompts, knowledge and CRM data without code.
HubSpot says Agent Hub is included in Starter, Professional and Enterprise editions. Many agents and custom agents consume HubSpot Credits, bought in packs or used pay-as-you-go. Agents run on HubSpot's Smart CRM, with Data Hub for data management.
How do the three compare side by side?

Which option fits your business?
Choose Salesforce if you have a large or complex sales operation, need extensive customization and governance, or already run Salesforce with admins in house. Its ecosystem and admin tooling are broad, and its agent platform is mature for enterprise use.
Choose HubSpot if marketing drives most of your pipeline and your team values ease of use. Its agents span marketing, sales and service in one place, and it is strong for inbound-led companies.
Choose Zoho if you want predictable costs, already use Zoho apps such as Books or Desk, or want to pick your own AI model. Zoho can be a good fit for US and global SMBs watching budget, though some agent features were in early access through 2025 and availability can vary by edition and data center. Our Zoho CRM vs Salesforce comparison covers the wider CRM choice.

Frequently asked questions
Which CRM has the cheapest AI agents?
There is no simple answer, because all three use different models: Zoho charges for model usage, Salesforce uses credits, conversations or per-user add-ons, and HubSpot uses credits on top of paid editions. Estimate your expected usage on each vendor's pricing page.
Can I use my own OpenAI or Claude account with these agents?
Zoho's agents pricing page lists bring-your-own-key support for OpenAI, Gemini and Claude. Check Salesforce's and HubSpot's current documentation for their model options.
Are Zoho's Zia Agents generally available?
Zoho launched them to early access in 2025, and its CRM help now documents prebuilt agents on paid plans. Availability of specific agents and models can still vary by edition and data center.
Is it worth switching CRMs just for AI agents?
Rarely on its own. Data quality, total license cost, integrations and team adoption usually matter more than any single AI feature.
Is Flowpeak neutral in this comparison?
We are a registered Zoho partner, so we have stated that openly. We used each vendor's own pages for facts and noted where Salesforce and HubSpot are stronger.
