Zoho People and KeyPay (Employment Hero Payroll): how to connect them

Is KeyPay the same as Employment Hero Payroll?

Yes. Employment Hero acquired KeyPay and retired the KeyPay brand, so the payroll product is now Employment Hero Payroll. Some connectors and help pages still use the KeyPay name.

What can sync between Zoho People and KeyPay?

Decide which system is the master for each field. Most teams keep HR records in Zoho People and pay calculations in KeyPay.

Option 1: Zoho Flow

Zoho Flow lists a KeyPay connector with actions to create, add, update and fetch employees and to create timesheets. A Zoho People trigger, such as a new employee, can start a flow that creates the same person in KeyPay. This suits standard needs and needs no custom code.

Option 2: a custom integration

Where you need field-level control, error handling, scheduled syncs or several entities, a custom integration using both apps' APIs is more robust. We usually build it with Deluge functions or a small middleware service, with a log of every record sent.

What should you check before connecting them?

• Employee ID: use one unique ID in both systems so records match
• Which system owns leave balances and pay rates
• Award, superannuation and tax settings stay in payroll; confirm them with your payroll adviser
• Who fixes a failed sync, and how they are alerted
• Test with a few employees before switching on for everyone
