This comparison is for owners, operations managers and finance leads choosing an inventory system for a growing product business. You will see how Zoho Inventory, Cin7 and NetSuite differ on warehouses, channels, manufacturing and accounting, where each one is genuinely stronger, what changes by market in the USA, Canada, UK and EU, the Gulf and India, and which questions to answer before you sign. Licence prices are not covered here because they change often; check each vendor's official pricing page for your region.
How do Zoho Inventory, Cin7 and NetSuite compare at a glance?
The three products sit at different levels. Zoho Inventory is an inventory and order management app that works on its own or alongside Zoho Books. Cin7 is an inventory platform sold as two products, Cin7 Core and Cin7 Omni, built for product sellers with many channels. NetSuite is a full cloud ERP from Oracle where inventory is one part of a larger finance and operations suite.
| Area | Zoho Inventory | Cin7 | NetSuite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product type | Inventory and order app | Inventory platform (Core, Omni) | Full ERP suite |
| Accounting | Zoho Books, Xero, QuickBooks Online | Connects to external accounting | Built-in general ledger |
| Warehouses | Multi-warehouse, bins, picklists on higher plans | Warehouse management, 3PL Connect add-on | WMS with mobile scanning, bins, cycle counts |
| Manufacturing | Composite items and assemblies | Assembly and advanced manufacturing, BOM | Manufacturing modules within the suite |
| Channels | Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, WooCommerce | Many channel and app connectors | Commerce and connectors, often via partners |
| Multi-entity | Each company runs as its own Zoho organisation | Varies by plan | OneWorld for subsidiaries and consolidation |
When is Zoho Inventory the better choice?
Zoho Inventory is the practical pick when you sell physical products through a handful of channels and want one place for items, sales orders, purchase orders and shipments. It shares data with Zoho Books, Zoho CRM and Zoho Analytics, so finance and sales see the same stock figures without a separate integration project.
It covers more than many buyers expect. Zoho's help documentation describes replenishments with per-location reorder levels, composite items split into kits and assemblies, picklists, packages and carrier shipments. Zoho's pricing page lists serial and batch tracking, bin locations and barcode generation on higher plans, so check the plan you are quoting against.
- Good fit: e-commerce brands, distributors and wholesalers with one to a few warehouses.
- Good fit: businesses already on Zoho Books or Zoho One who want one login and one data model.
- Watch for: monthly sales order limits that differ by plan, and the number of warehouses each plan allows.
If you are leaning this way, read how a structured Zoho Inventory implementation handles items, warehouses and channel connections before you start a trial.
Where are Cin7 and NetSuite stronger?
Cin7 is stronger when wholesale and retail complexity is the main problem. Its site lists EDI, point of sale, Bill of Materials, assembly and advanced manufacturing, a B2B Portal add-on for trade buyers, 3PL Connect for third-party warehouses and ForesightAI for demand forecasting. It also claims connections to over 700 app partners. If you sell to big-box retailers through EDI and run several third-party warehouses, Cin7 is built around that work.
NetSuite is stronger when you have outgrown separate finance and inventory tools. Inventory, purchasing, the general ledger and revenue all live in one database. Its Warehouse Management System adds inbound logistics, mobile warehouse management, bin management and cycle counting through Smart Count. NetSuite OneWorld manages multiple subsidiaries, currencies and consolidation, which matters for groups with companies in several countries.
Zoho Inventory does offer EDI connections for 3PL providers through SPS Commerce, Crossfire EDI and Infocon Systems, but for heavy retail EDI and multi-entity consolidation the other two go further. If you are weighing Zoho against NetSuite at a whole-business level rather than inventory alone, it is worth reading a broader Zoho versus NetSuite comparison first.
How does the choice change by market?
All three are cloud products sold internationally, but local fit differs. These notes are a starting point; confirm availability and features for your country with each vendor.
- USA: Zoho Inventory lists UPS, USPS and FedEx integrations plus Avalara AvaTax for sales tax calculation. NetSuite and Cin7 both have a large US partner and app base.
- Canada: UPS integration in Zoho Inventory supports domestic shipping in Canada. Check GST/HST handling in the accounting app you pair it with.
- UK and EU: Zoho runs regional editions and EU data centres. UPS domestic shipping in Zoho Inventory covers the EU, and carriers such as PostNL and APC connect through EasyPost.
- UAE and Gulf: Aramex connects to Zoho Inventory through EasyPost, and Zoho has opened data centres in the UAE. Confirm VAT handling for your edition.
- India: Zoho Inventory's India edition supports e-way bills and Shiprocket, Delhivery and XpressBees integrations. Zoho ERP, launched in India in January 2026, is another option for larger Indian firms.
What should you check before choosing an inventory system?
Most failed inventory projects come from picking a tool for its feature list rather than for how orders actually move. Before you compare demos, write down your real process and volumes.
- Count monthly sales orders, purchase orders and SKUs, then check them against plan limits.
- List every sales channel and marketplace, and confirm a supported connector for each.
- Decide whether you need multiple legal entities, currencies or consolidation. If yes, NetSuite or a Zoho Books multi-organisation design needs early discussion.
- Map warehouse steps: receiving, putaway, picking, packing and shipping, plus any 3PL.
- Check whether you assemble products or run true production with routings and work centres.
- Ask who will own the system after go-live and how much admin time they have.
A common mistake is choosing the largest system to be safe. A full ERP brings longer setup, more configuration and more training. The opposite mistake is staying on a light tool after you need consolidation or heavy EDI. Ask each vendor for a demo using your own top ten SKUs, a real multi-line order and a return, rather than their standard script. That shows quickly where each product needs workarounds.

Frequently asked questions
Is Zoho Inventory cheaper than Cin7 and NetSuite?
Zoho Inventory is generally positioned for smaller businesses and usually costs less to license and implement than a full ERP, but prices change and depend on plan, users and add-ons. Compare current figures on each vendor's official pricing page for your region before deciding.
Can Zoho Inventory handle multiple warehouses?
Yes. Zoho Inventory supports multiple warehouses or locations, with transfer orders between them, picklists and bin locations. The number of locations and access to bins depend on your plan, so check the plan limits against how many sites you run now and expect to add.
Does Cin7 replace my accounting software?
No. Cin7 is an inventory and order platform that connects to a separate accounting system. NetSuite includes its own general ledger. Zoho Inventory pairs with Zoho Books, Xero or QuickBooks Online, so you still keep a separate but connected accounting app.
When should a business move from Zoho Inventory to NetSuite?
Consider moving when you need several legal entities with consolidation, very high transaction volumes, advanced warehouse automation or one ERP database across finance and operations. If your pain is just one missing feature, a custom workflow or Zoho Creator app may solve it at lower cost.
Can Zoho Inventory send orders to a 3PL?
Zoho Inventory lists EDI integrations with SPS Commerce, Crossfire EDI and Infocon Systems for working with 3PL providers. Confirm that your 3PL supports one of these, or plan an API integration through Zoho Flow or a custom connector.
