What is Zoho Analytics used for?

Zoho Analytics is used to turn business data into reports and dashboards. Teams connect sources such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, spreadsheets, databases and non-Zoho apps, then build charts, KPI dashboards and scheduled reports. It also has an AI assistant, Zia, that answers questions about your data in plain language.

Zoho Analytics is Zoho's business intelligence (BI) tool. Zoho now describes it as an agentic analytics platform. In practice, most businesses use it to pull data from several systems into one place and build reports that the source apps cannot produce on their own, such as sales by region against invoices paid, or support tickets against customer revenue.

Common uses include sales and pipeline dashboards built on Zoho CRM data, finance reports and cash flow views built on Zoho Books, marketing reports that join campaign and website data, and management dashboards that combine several departments. Reports can be shared with colleagues, emailed on a schedule, or embedded in websites and other apps. Zoho also offers embedded and white-label analytics for software companies that want reporting inside their own product.

It is not limited to Zoho data. Zoho's site says it connects to more than 500 sources, including files, databases, data warehouses and business apps such as Salesforce, QuickBooks and Google Analytics. You can import data once or set up a regular sync. Zia, Zoho's AI assistant, lets users type a question like "revenue by month this year" and get a chart back.

There are real limits. Data from apps syncs on a schedule, so dashboards are not always live to the minute. Lookup fields, data modelling and joins between tables take some learning, and badly planned workspaces get messy fast. Very large data sets need a higher plan. For most small and mid-size businesses, though, it covers reporting needs without a separate data team.

Getting value usually depends on planning before building. Decide which questions the dashboards must answer, which apps hold that data, how often it needs to refresh and who should see each report.
