Is Zoho Analytics like Tableau?
Yes, in broad terms. Zoho Analytics and Tableau are both business intelligence tools for building reports and dashboards from many data sources. Tableau, owned by Salesforce since 2019, is known for deep visual data exploration and a large analyst community. Zoho Analytics is a lighter, cloud-first tool with tight links to Zoho apps.

Both products do the same core job. You connect data, clean and combine it, then build charts and dashboards that you share with others. Both offer AI help for asking questions in plain language, scheduled reports and ways to embed dashboards in other apps. If you only need sales, finance and operations dashboards, either can do it.
The difference is mainly in depth and audience. Tableau was built for analysts. Its authoring tools give fine control over visual design and exploration, and it has one of the largest user communities in BI, with Tableau Public used widely for sharing visualisations. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Tableau on 1 August 2019, and Tableau now sits alongside Salesforce's CRM and data products.
Zoho Analytics is aimed more at business users in small and mid-size companies. It runs in the browser, has ready-made connectors and prebuilt reports for Zoho CRM, Zoho Books and other Zoho apps, and Zoho says it connects to more than 500 sources overall. It has a free plan for very small use. Its visual design options are simpler than Tableau's, and power users may find modelling and formatting less flexible.
A fair rule of thumb: if you have dedicated data analysts, complex data and a Salesforce or enterprise data stack, Tableau is a strong fit. If most of your data lives in Zoho apps and the people building reports are managers rather than analysts, Zoho Analytics is usually quicker to set up and easier to run.

Common questions
Is Tableau still used?
Yes. Tableau is still actively sold and developed by Salesforce, with Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop, and it remains one of the most widely used BI tools. Salesforce has also launched Tableau Next, built on its own data and AI platform.
What is replacing Tableau?
Nothing has replaced it outright. Teams that move away from Tableau most often choose Microsoft Power BI, especially if they already use Microsoft 365, or tools such as Looker, Qlik or Zoho Analytics depending on where their data lives and who builds reports.
Is Zoho Analytics easier to use than Tableau?
For non-analysts, usually yes. It has prebuilt reports for Zoho apps and a simpler builder, while Tableau gives more control but takes longer to learn.
Can Zoho Analytics connect to Salesforce?
Yes. Salesforce is one of the third-party sources Zoho Analytics lists among its connectors.
