How do I migrate from BambooHR or Keka to Zoho People?

Export employee data from BambooHR or Keka, clean it, and import it into Zoho People in order: departments and designations, then employees, then reporting managers, then leave balances and documents. Set up leave policies, attendance and workflows in Zoho People before importing balances. Run a short parallel period and check payroll inputs before switching off the old system.

Both BambooHR and Keka let you export employee records to spreadsheets. Pull core employee data, job history, managers, leave balances and, where possible, documents. Clean the data first: consistent department names, valid dates, unique employee IDs and work emails.

In Zoho People, create the organisation structure, custom fields and leave types before importing. Import employees, then update reporting managers in a second pass, since a manager must exist before being linked. Import leave balances as at your cut-off date rather than full leave history. Upload documents to employee files in bulk where supported, or attach key ones manually.

If you also run payroll, check how Zoho People will feed it, whether Zoho Payroll in supported countries or another payroll tool. Run one month in parallel to compare leave and attendance figures. Then switch off the old system and keep its exports archived.
