Why do Zoho Books bank feeds keep disconnecting, and how do I fix them?
Most Zoho Books bank feed drops come from the bank side: expired consent, a changed online banking password, extra security checks, or a problem with the feed aggregator that connects Zoho to your bank. The fix is usually to refresh or re-authorise the feed in Zoho Books. If it keeps failing, switch to a direct bank integration where available, or import statements as a fallback.

Zoho Books connects to many banks through third-party aggregators, and in some countries through direct bank integrations. Open banking rules in places like the UK and Europe require you to renew consent at intervals, often every 90 days. When consent lapses, the feed stops quietly. Password changes, new two-factor steps and bank website changes also break the connection until you sign in again.
First, open the bank account in Zoho Books and use the option to refresh or re-authorise the feed. Sign in fully, including any one-time codes. If the feed still fails, delete the feed connection (not the bank account) and add it again. Check whether your bank offers a direct integration with Zoho Books, as these tend to be more stable than screen-scraped feeds.
While a feed is down, import a statement file from your bank so reconciliation does not fall behind. Watch for duplicate transactions after a reconnect, since some feeds pull an overlapping date range. If one bank keeps failing, report it to Zoho support with the bank name and error message, because they can see aggregator-side issues you cannot.
Key points
- Refresh or re-authorise the feed and complete every security step.
- Note when consent expires and set a reminder to renew it.
- Remove and re-add the feed connection if refreshing does not work.
- Import a bank statement file to cover any gap.
- Check for duplicate transactions after reconnecting.
Common questions
Will reconnecting lose my categorised transactions?
No. Reconnecting the feed does not remove transactions you have already matched or categorised.
Which is more reliable, a feed or statement import?
A direct bank integration is most reliable where offered. Statement import always works but is manual.
