What are the real record and execution limits in Zoho Creator?

Zoho Creator limits depend on your plan. Record counts, storage, file upload size, API calls and Deluge execution limits such as statement counts and timeouts all vary by edition and change over time. For most business apps the limits are generous. Problems usually appear with large bulk operations, heavy loops or integrations, so design for batches and check the current limits page.

Creator has two kinds of limits. Capacity limits cover how many records, how much storage and how many users and apps you have. Execution limits cover what a single script or action can do, such as how many Deluge statements run, how long a function can take, how many records one fetch returns and how many API calls you make per day. Plans differ, so read the limits for your edition before you design.

Most apps never hit these limits. Trouble comes when a single workflow tries to update thousands of records at once, loops through large datasets, or makes many external calls in a row. The script stops with an error, sometimes after doing half the work. That is the real risk, so build processes that can resume safely.

The standard patterns help. Process records in batches using schedules, store a flag on each processed record, and move heavy integration work to Zoho Flow or Zoho Catalyst if needed. Use reports with filters rather than fetching everything. If an app is outgrowing Creator, Flowpeak can review the design and suggest where Catalyst or a different structure would serve it better.

Key points

  • Check your plan's record, storage and API limits.
  • Note Deluge statement and timeout limits for functions.
  • Batch bulk updates using schedules.
  • Mark processed records so a failed run can resume.
  • Move heavy processing to Zoho Catalyst if needed.

Common questions

What happens when a Creator script hits a limit?

It stops with an error. Changes made before the error may remain, so design scripts to be safe to rerun.

Can I increase Creator limits?

Higher plans and add-ons raise some limits. Check with Zoho for your account.
