Is Zoho CRM too complex for a very small team?

Zoho CRM can feel heavy for a team of two or three because it offers far more than they need on day one. It does not have to be complex if you switch off unused modules and keep a simple pipeline. If you only need contacts, deals and follow-ups, Bigin is designed for very small teams and can move to Zoho CRM later.

The complexity people feel comes from choice. Zoho CRM has leads, contacts, accounts, deals, campaigns, quotes, workflows and much more, all visible by default. A small team does not need most of it. Hiding unused modules, trimming fields to what you actually fill in, and using one pipeline makes the product much simpler to live with.

Bigin is Zoho's lighter CRM for small businesses. It is built around pipelines, contacts and activities, with fewer settings to manage. Many small teams are happier there. The trade-off is fewer options for automation, customisation and reporting, so a team that expects to grow quickly or needs custom modules may outgrow it.

The best test is to write down what you need to track this year, then try both with your own data for a week. If you can describe your process in a page, either will work. If you need several pipelines, approval steps or integrations with accounting, Zoho CRM is usually the better long-term home.
