How do I turn a sales order into a contract or renewal in Zoho CRM?

Zoho CRM has no standard Contracts module, so most teams create a custom Contracts module, then use a workflow or a button with a Deluge function to create a contract from a sales order with start date, end date, value and products. A scheduled workflow before the end date creates a renewal deal. For subscriptions, Zoho Billing handles recurring charges and renewals.

Create a custom module called Contracts with fields for account, contact, linked sales order, start and end dates, value, renewal terms and status. Add a lookup to Sales Orders so the history stays connected. A related list or subform can hold the products covered.

Next, automate creation. A workflow triggered when a sales order reaches an approved status, or a custom button, can run a function that copies the details into a new contract. Blueprint can guide the approval and signature steps, and Zoho Sign can collect the signature on a generated document.

For renewals, add a date-based workflow that runs a set number of days before the end date. It can create a renewal deal, assign it to the account owner and send a reminder. If you bill recurring fees, look at Zoho Billing, which manages subscription renewals and links to CRM. Zoho Contracts is another option if legal review and clause management matter.
