How do I split a sales order into multiple shipments in Zoho Inventory?

In Zoho Inventory you split a sales order by creating more than one package from it. Create a package with only the quantities ready now, ship it, and create another package later for the rest. The sales order shows as partially packed or shipped until everything is delivered. You can also invoice each shipment separately if you bill as you ship.

Open the sales order and create a package. Zoho Inventory fills in all remaining quantities by default. Reduce the quantities to what you are sending now, or remove lines that are not ready. Save the package, then create a shipment for it with the carrier, tracking number and ship date. The sales order status updates to show it is partly fulfilled.

When the rest of the goods are ready, create another package from the same sales order. Only the remaining quantities will be offered. Ship it the same way. You can repeat this as many times as needed, which is useful for backorders or deliveries to different dates.

Decide how to invoice. You can create one invoice for the full order, or an invoice for each package as it ships so customers only pay for what they received. Check your preference settings and train staff on the rule you choose. If you ship from more than one warehouse, set the warehouse on each package so stock is reduced in the right place.
