How do I test Zoho Desk and CRM integration in a sandbox first?

Zoho Desk and Zoho CRM each offer a sandbox on eligible editions, but integration testing between the two sandboxes is limited, so most teams test the integration in a separate trial or test organisation. Build the Desk configuration in its sandbox, connect a test Desk to a test CRM, run real scenarios, then repeat the connection carefully in production with a few records first.

Sandboxes are good for testing configuration inside one app, such as Desk layouts, assignment rules and workflows, or CRM fields and Blueprints. The Desk to CRM integration is different because it syncs contacts, accounts and sometimes deals between two live systems. Sandboxes may not connect to each other the way production does, so check the current help for what your editions support.

A safe pattern is a test pair. Create a trial or spare Desk portal and a trial CRM organisation, or use a CRM developer edition, and connect them. Set the same sync direction, field mapping and module choices you plan for production. Then run scenarios: a new ticket from an unknown email, a contact edited in each app, and a merge of duplicates. Write down what happens.

When you move to production, connect with the narrowest settings first, such as one-way sync of contacts only, and watch the results for a few days before widening it. Clean duplicates in CRM before connecting, because the integration matches on email and will copy messy data into Desk.
