How do I set up e-invoicing in Zoho Books for India (IRN and e-way bills)?

In the India edition of Zoho Books, enable e-invoicing in settings, connect it to the government portal with your API credentials, and then push eligible invoices to generate an IRN and QR code. E-way bills are enabled separately and can be generated from invoices or transfer orders. Check your turnover against the current GST thresholds and test with one invoice before switching fully.

E-invoicing in India means sending B2B invoice data to the Invoice Registration Portal, which returns an IRN and a signed QR code. Zoho Books India is integrated with this process. Before you start, register on the e-invoice portal, create API credentials for your GSP or for Zoho, and make sure your GSTIN, address and state are correct in Zoho Books. Customer GSTINs and HSN or SAC codes on items must be accurate, or the portal rejects the invoice.

Once enabled, you push an invoice to the portal from the invoice screen or in bulk. Zoho Books stores the IRN and QR code and prints them on the invoice. Cancellation must happen within the time allowed by the portal, and larger taxpayers face a deadline for reporting invoices after their date, so do not leave invoices unpushed. Check the GST notifications for the current rules.

E-way bills are a separate module. Enable them in settings, connect your e-way bill portal credentials and add transporter details. You can then generate an e-way bill from an invoice or delivery document.
