How do I migrate email from Google Workspace to Zoho Mail?

Set up your domain and users in Zoho Mail, then use the migration tool in the Zoho Mail admin console to copy mailboxes from Google Workspace, usually through a Google service account or IMAP. Run the migration before switching MX records, switch MX at a quiet time, then run a final pass. Move contacts and calendars separately.

Start in Zoho Mail by adding and verifying your domain, then create users and groups to match your Google accounts. Do not change MX records yet. Mail keeps flowing to Google while you copy the history. Plan aliases and groups now, so addresses like sales or info land in the right place on day one.

Use the data migration option in the Zoho Mail admin console. For Google Workspace you usually set up a service account in Google Cloud with the right API scopes and domain-wide delegation, then upload its key to Zoho. IMAP with app passwords is an alternative for smaller moves. Large mailboxes take time, so start a few days before the cut-over.

On cut-over day, change MX records to Zoho, update SPF and add Zoho's DKIM key. Run a final migration pass to catch mail that arrived during the switch. Export contacts and calendars from Google and import them into Zoho. Reconnect phones and desktop clients, and keep Google active for a short overlap in case anything was missed.
