About the client
The client services vehicles and machines and sells parts from its own stock.
The challenge
Bookings were taken without checking whether a service engineer and the right equipment were free at the same time, which led to clashes and delays.
Parts inventory was hard to follow: the team could not easily tell which supplier a part came from, how long it had been on the shelf or which customer it went to.
What we built
- Availability-based booking: Services are booked only into slots where both a service engineer and the required machine are available.
- Service status: Each job moves through clear statuses so staff and customers know where it stands.
- Inventory in and out: Every part is tracked from the supplier it came from, through its time on the shelf, to the customer it was sold to.
- Ageing view: Shows how many days each item has been in stock, so slow-moving parts are easy to spot.
