Zoho Commerce vs Shopify: is it worth switching?

Switching from Shopify to Zoho Commerce makes sense mainly if you already run Zoho Inventory, Books and CRM and want one connected system with fewer integrations. Shopify has a far larger app and theme ecosystem and more marketing and checkout options. If your store depends on many Shopify apps, connecting Shopify to Zoho is often better than switching.

Zoho Commerce is an online store builder that shares its backend with Zoho Inventory, so orders, stock and items are native, and it connects closely to Books for accounting and CRM for customers. For a business already invested in Zoho, that removes a layer of syncing and the errors that come with it. It suits smaller catalogues, B2B ordering and businesses where the store is one channel among several.

Shopify is built only for commerce and has a much bigger ecosystem: themes, apps for reviews, subscriptions, bundles and upsells, plus many payment, shipping and marketplace options. For brands whose growth depends on design and conversion tools, that ecosystem is hard to replace.

Before switching, list every Shopify app you use and check whether Zoho Commerce or another Zoho app covers it. Think about SEO too: plan URL redirects so you keep rankings. A middle path is common: stay on Shopify and connect it to Zoho Inventory and Books for operations and accounting. Choose based on where your team spends its time.
