How do I sync tags between Zoho CRM and Zoho Campaigns?

Zoho CRM tags do not map straight into Zoho Campaigns tags. The reliable method is to copy tag information into a CRM field, such as a multi-select picklist, with a workflow or function, then map that field in the Campaigns sync. In Campaigns you can then build segments from the field. Check the current sync settings, as Zoho updates this integration.

Tags in CRM are labels on the record, not normal fields, so the Campaigns field mapping does not see them. Campaigns also has its own tags, which it sets from email activity. The two systems treat tags differently, which is why they do not line up out of the box.

Create a field in CRM, such as Interests, and a matching field in Campaigns. Then keep the CRM field updated. A workflow with a Deluge function can read the record's tags and write them to the field whenever the record is edited. Map the field in the Campaigns CRM sync settings so it flows across on each sync.

In Campaigns, build segments using that field, for example Interests contains Webinar. This gives marketing the same grouping sales uses in CRM. If you need tags to flow the other way, use Campaigns activity to update a CRM field instead, and let CRM add the tag from that field.
