How do I migrate from Microsoft 365 to Zoho Workplace?

Move in stages: set up Zoho Workplace and verify your domain, create users, migrate mailboxes with Zoho Mail's migration tool, move files to WorkDrive, then switch your MX records once mail is copied. Run a final sync to catch recent messages. Calendars and contacts can be exported and imported. Plan for Teams, SharePoint sites and Office files, which need their own approach.

Start in Zoho Workplace by adding and verifying your domain, then create user accounts and groups to match your Microsoft 365 setup. Zoho Mail has a migration tool that can connect to Microsoft 365 and copy mailbox contents. You will need admin access on the Microsoft side. Test with one or two mailboxes first to check folder structure and speed.

Run the bulk migration while people keep working in Microsoft 365. Then change your MX records to point to Zoho Mail, and update SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Run a final migration pass to pick up messages that arrived in Microsoft 365 before the change took effect. Calendars and contacts can be moved using exports and imports where the migration tool does not cover them.

Files take more planning. OneDrive and SharePoint content can be moved into WorkDrive team folders, but permissions and sharing links will not carry over exactly. Teams chats and channels do not migrate directly to Zoho Cliq. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files open in Zoho Writer, Sheet and Show, but check complex macros and templates.
