Is Zoho FSM mature enough yet for a field service company?

Zoho FSM is a newer product than long-established field service tools, but it already covers the core: work orders, scheduling, a dispatch console, a mobile app for technicians, time sheets, quotes, invoicing and links to Zoho CRM and Books. It suits small and mid-sized service companies with standard processes. Test it carefully if you need advanced route optimisation, complex parts logistics or heavy compliance reporting.

The strengths are cost, ease of setup and fit with the rest of Zoho. If you already use Zoho CRM for sales and Zoho Books for accounts, FSM lets a quote become a work order, then an invoice, without another integration. Technicians get a mobile app for job details, checklists, photos and signatures. For HVAC, cleaning, installation and maintenance businesses with standard workflows, that is often enough.

Where it can fall short is in specialised needs. Ask about automatic scheduling and routing, tracking parts in each van, contracts with complex service level rules, and industry forms. Zoho releases updates often, so a gap from last year may already be closed. Check the current feature list and release notes rather than old reviews.

Run a pilot before switching. Pick one team, put real jobs through FSM for two or three weeks, and see what technicians and dispatchers struggle with. Custom fields, Deluge functions and Zoho Creator can fill some gaps, but if the missing piece is central to your business, a more specialised tool may suit you better.
