Is Zoho Books ready for France's 2026 e-invoicing mandate?

Zoho Books has added French e-invoicing and e-reporting support to its France edition. Zoho states that eligible B2B invoices to French customers are sent through an approved platform, which also passes the required data to the tax authority, while other sales go through e-reporting. Check the current Zoho Books France help pages for setup steps, your edition and any changes to the official timetable.

France is moving to mandatory e-invoicing for B2B sales between VAT-registered businesses, with e-reporting for B2C and cross-border sales. All businesses must be able to receive e-invoices from September 2026, and the obligation to issue them is phased by company size. Invoices must pass through an approved platform rather than being emailed as plain PDFs.

According to Zoho's help documentation, Zoho Books routes B2B e-invoices for French customers through a third-party approved platform, and that platform also sends the required data to the tax authority. Customers outside the French B2B scope are handled through e-reporting. Zoho Books itself connects to the platform rather than acting as one. Ask Zoho to confirm the platform's status if your auditors need it in writing.

To be ready, move to the current France edition if Zoho asks you to, add company identifiers such as SIREN and SIRET, update customer records with the details the platform needs, and send test invoices. Check that your invoice templates, VAT codes and payment terms meet the new required fields. Plan this well before your deadline, because cleaning customer data takes longer than the technical setup.

If you would rather have this set up and tested for you, Flowpeak Consulting can review your organisation, clean customer data and run the test cycle with you remotely. We work alongside your accountant so that tax treatment stays their decision and the system simply follows it.
