Does Zoho Sign support qualified electronic signatures (QES) for the EU?

Yes. Zoho Sign supports qualified electronic signatures under the EU eIDAS rules through integrations with qualified trust service providers. The signer verifies their identity with the provider, and the signature is created with a qualified certificate. eIDAS defines three levels of electronic signature: simple, advanced and qualified. A qualified electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature across the EU. It requires identity verification and a qualified certificate issued by a trust service provider on the EU trusted list.

Zoho Sign offers QES by working with qualified providers. When you send a document, you choose the qualified signature option for the recipient. The signer completes identity verification with the provider, often through a video check, an eID app or a national ID, and then signs. QES usually costs extra per signature, so check pricing in your plan.

Most business documents do not need QES. Simple or advanced signatures are enough for many contracts. Use QES where law or your counterparty requires it, such as some employment, property or regulated documents. Ask your legal adviser which level each document type needs in your country.
