Can Zoho Billing use Square for subscription payments?

Yes. Square is one of the online payment gateways Zoho Billing can connect to, and you can use it to collect card payments on invoices and subscriptions. Support depends on your country and Zoho Billing edition, and not every gateway supports every feature, such as automatic charging of saved cards. Check the current Square page in the Zoho Billing help docs before you move existing subscribers.

You connect Square from the online payments section of Zoho Billing settings, signing in to your Square account to authorise it. Once connected, customers can pay through the hosted payment page or customer portal, and the payment is recorded against the invoice automatically. For recurring billing, the key question is whether the card can be stored and charged automatically on each renewal. Confirm this for your region in the Square help page before going live.

Existing card details stored in another gateway usually cannot be moved straight into Square. If you are switching, plan to ask customers to update their payment method through the portal, or keep the old gateway running for existing subscribers while new ones go to Square. Zoho Billing can work with more than one gateway, which makes this kind of gradual switch possible.

Run a test subscription with a low amount through the full cycle: sign-up, first charge, renewal, failed payment and refund. That shows whether dunning emails, retries and receipts behave the way you expect with Square. Keep notes on anything that differs from your old gateway so your support team can answer customer questions.
