Can Zoho Billing restrict coupons to specific customers or plans?

Yes. Zoho Billing lets you limit which plans and addons a coupon applies to, and advanced coupons can also be limited to eligible customers. You can set redemption limits and an expiry date as well. Plan and addon restrictions depend on using an item-level discount, so set that preference first. Exact options vary by edition, so check the current coupon help page.

A coupon in Zoho Billing is more than a discount code. When you create one, you choose whether the discount applies to the whole invoice or to individual items. If you choose item-level, you can pick the specific plans and addons the coupon works with. This stops a code meant for an annual plan being used on a monthly one.

Advanced coupons add more control. You can name the customers who are eligible, create several codes under one primary coupon, and give each code its own redemption cap. Validity settings let you set when the coupon starts and ends. Flat amount discounts can be set per currency, which matters if you bill in more than one currency.

Before launching a promotion, test the coupon on a test customer and a real plan. Check that it is rejected on plans it should not apply to and that the renewal behaviour is what you expect, for example whether the discount applies once, for a fixed number of cycles or forever. Those choices affect revenue for months, so agree them with finance first.
